And I sought for a man among them who should build up the wall and stand in the breach before Me for the land, that I should not destroy it, but I found none.” Ezekiel 22:30 (ESV)

God always looks for someone to bring about His purposes. Btw, the devil uses people as well! Right upfront God gave man authority on the earth (Genesis 1:28). For God to operate within His character, He must honor that delegated authority. There are things He doesn’t (can’t?) do because He has given that authority to us. God looked for a man and found Noah who built a boat (Genesis 6)! God looked for a man and found Moses who not only delivered Israel from slavery in Egypt but interceded for them keeping them from being destroyed when they made a golden calf (Psalm 106:23). God looked for a man and found Deborah (Judges 5) who rose up and led Israel to freedom. God looked for a man and found Gideon who had been hiding in caves and threshing barley in a winepress out of fear of his enemies (Judges 6). God looked for a man and found David, a man after His own heart (1 Samuel 13:14). Instead of running away from battles, David ran to the front line (1 Samuel 17:48). Jesus chose 12 men to start His movement and birth His church. God even uses wicked men, Cyrus for example, who was prophesied about to accomplish God’s work of judging Babylon and setting His people free (Isaiah 45). He is still looking for men today!

God will step in when someone steps up. But like I said above, demons also need humans as vessels for them to operate in this world. From the very beginning Satan has been trying to create, and/or control man. He needs a man to become his antichrist, the man of lawlessness. Satan is looking for men who will rebel and reject God’s offer.

Whose man will you be? Will you be the man (male or female) who steps up in this hour to answer God’s call to fight tyranny and be His vessel for freedom and truth? Or will you allow demons to use you through silence and complicity, or even outright rebellion to accomplish his temporal and worthless desires?

Recommit yourself to God and His purposes through you in this hour! You are right where you need to be right now! Tell Him you will be the one He is looking for in your sphere of influence. Repent where you have been avoiding being His “man!” And ask the Holy Spirit to renew you and your calling, to realign you with the destiny He has put within you! Ask God for others to be the one as well! That you pastor would be one, and that your church would rise up and fulfill its purpose as part of the body of Christ in our city. We are here for such a time as this!!!
