“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)
Those who have hope are world changers, history makers, revival bringers! This has been a season of displaced and deferred hope, and as the scriptures say, the result is many sick hearts (Proverbs 13:12). Hope is the expression of our faith. Without faith, there is no hope. As Hebrews 11 says faith has a substance called hope. This substance (KJV), confidence (NIV), reality (NLT) or assurance (ESV) of the things that are not yet! Hope is that place between the now and the not yet.
Cry out for Holy Spirit hope within your church! Ask God to strengthen those with “sick hearts” from the recent time of deferred hope. Pray that your church would be known for its wholehearted faith in God as evidenced through the substance of hope it brings to the world in such a dark time of history. Pray for your pastor to be encouraged today, and for their faith to be renewed. Cry out for God to awaken the church across our city to be the answer of hope that Athens needs in such a time as this!
