“Those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 2 Kings 6:16b (NIV)
One morning Gehazi, the assistant to Elisha came out to have his coffee and quiet time on their deck and quickly noticed that during the night the enemy had surrounded them. In the natural, there were more troops than people, more “bad guys” than good guys. These enemies thought they were out manning the prophet and his servant. But they didn’t realize that they were actually surrounded by a fiery multitude of heavenly host. One minute the enemy thought they had this, the next they were blinded and lead off as prisoners. This is pretty much what’s going on today. Perhaps our enemy knows his demise is soon, or maybe he is so blind with pride, arrogance and hatred that he can’t see that he has led his evil human cohorts right into God’s hands. The trap has been set, the enemy has fallen into it (and will continue to), and things will change, soon!
He who is in us is INFINITELY GREATER than he who is in the world (1John 4:4). The devil is simply a pawn, and check mate is at hand! From the natural eye it looks like he is going to win, but our God never loses. He is not surprised by what has transpired these past few years. He has allowed the enemy to expose himself and to walk right into the trap.
Remember this, we are more than conquerors in Christ (Romans 8:37). I love how the NLT says it – overwhelming victory is ours through Christ! This passage doesn’t say we will be more than conquerors. Nope! We already are! Stand in that truth today. Even if it doesn’t look that way. Don’t allow the enemy to distract, deceive and destroy in your life! There are more with us than with the devil, even humanly speaking, the wicked few are going to come down very soon!
Ask the Lord to open your eyes to see the heavenly host emerging and becoming visible. Ask Him for faith to stand in the truth that you are overwhelmingly victorious NOW! Lay your fears, anxiety, weariness and depression at His feet. Ask Him to replace these things with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). Ask God to reveal the angel army at your church, especially to your pastor! Ask God to open the eyes of His people across our city to see behind the thin spiritual veil that is hiding the angels and demons operating around us. Thank Him for the victory that is before us!
