“He answered, ‘I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.’” Luke 19:40 (ESV)

This past weekend at our UGA prayer walk we got pretty loud! As we did, we could sense things falling around us! As we journeyed through the plaza between the journalism and psychology buildings, God stirred us the shout to Him with all our might. We praised His name, proclaiming His fame and Lordship over the campus and our city. It was powerful, and loud! A group of guys were walking by perhaps hundred yards away. A few minutes later they were seen, and heard, shouting the exact same things we had just shouted! Wholehearted, praising God is contagious!!! When we shout, just like Joshua and walls of Jericho, the power to tear down walls is released!!!

What is it that makes us think we should pray quietly, especially when we’re around others? I think it is a lie from the other side! To shout publicly addresses our fear of men, our desire to not look foolish, and the intimidation of the enemy! Let’s shake and shout those shackles off!

Come on! Get loud for Jesus! It is not that God can’t hear, but we want the spiritual world around us to know what we believe! Our loud declarations matter! Let the spiritual realm know you are not afraid nor ashamed of the gospel, nor of the name of Jesus! It’s time for the warrior to rise up and shout for the Lord! It’s time for the warrior’s voice to be heard! No wonder the Psalmist says, “Shout with joy to the LORD, all the earth” (Psalm 100:1 – NLT)!

Ask the Lord to release the Lion’s roar through you today! Ask Him to shake the spiritual realm in your house, your dorm, your neighborhood… your city. Ask Him where you are to shout for Him today! Ask Him to break off the shackles of fear, intimidation and concern about what others think! If we don’t do it, perhaps to our shame, the rocks will! As you worship Him and pray this week begin being loud! Let your voice be heard!!!
