Unless is actually a very powerful word. It means “but that,” or “except upon condition that.” Unless “this happens” that can’t happen! It expresses a requirement that must be met. This phrase occurs several times in the Bible. I think it is worth taking a brief look at it, in light of our world right now…

“Unless the LORD had given me help, I would soon have dwelt in the silence of death” Psalm 94:17 (NIV).

This is so appropriate for us right now! I was praying with a couple pastors just this morning and we were so gripped that “unless the LORD” had stepped into our lives we all would not be in that room, and most likely dead right now. How many times in our lives has the LORD stepped in and saved us. Sometimes we are aware of this, but many times we’re not even aware of His protection and deliverance. I recall a time that Shellie & I were taking a handful of high school students on a mission trip to San Francisco and the brakes in the van I was driving “temporarily” went out on a busy, congested freeway. Suddenly the traffic stopped, but our van didn’t. We all braced for impact. My foot slamming the brake through the floorboard, and then instead of hitting the vehicle in front of us, we hit a wall of air, and came to a quick stop. Everyone in the van knew, at that moment, unless the LORD had intervened we all would have slipped into the silence of death! Btw, the brakes on the van suddenly worked again!

Likewise, unless the LORD steps in and rescues our nation, we will slip into the silence of death! We are passing through socialism, leading to Marxism then to quickly to communism with a totalitarian dictatorship, a global elite controlling and enslaving the masses, with an extreme depopulation of our planet. Yes, that sounds like death to me. But God has not left the room! He is moving, and He must move because man cannot save the day! Though He has given us dominion on this planet, He still owns it (Psalm 24:1). And He is not going to let the devil and his cronies steal it from Him. God’s word is eternal, and it will be fulfilled! God wins, the devil loses and we are on God’s side! AMEN!!!

“Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain” Psalm 127:1 (NIV).

This is a day when the LORD is building, and restoring His house. He is literally re-establishing the tent of David (Amos 9:11). Houses of prayer, prayer ministries and prayer rooms are being ignited all over the globe! If ever there was a time to invest in prayer, it is now! If there was ever a time for you to get serious about prayer, praying with others and diving into a house of prayer, it is now, because that is what God is doing! The secret to success in the Kingdom of God is finding out what He is doing and joining Him. Want to be successful? Come join Him in building the House of Prayer. You are most welcome to come be a part of AHOP (for more info please check out www.athenshouseofprayer.com).

“No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day” John 6:44 (NIV).

We are about to step into a time of great harvest as the Father draws 1 billion souls to His Son! Prodigals will be coming home. Those trapped in “gross darkness” will see and come into the light! Get ready. Everything is about to change. Even now begin to pray for that harvest in Athens, and across our nation and world!

Thank the LORD for that “unless He” in your life. Thank Him for the times He has intervened, even when you were not aware, as well as the times that you totally knew He had stepped in and saved you! Thank Him for His “unless” in your children and family members! Ask Him to grant you eyes of faith to see and take hold of what He is doing in this hour, and the courage to join Him. Ask Him how you can increase, amplify, stir up your praying in this day. Ask Him what part you are to play at AHOP, or whatever house of prayer that He is calling you to be a part of. Pray for a fresh passion for prayer over your pastor and congregation, that your church as a whole would increase in prayer, and truly become a praying church, that prayer would become a priority and a part of everything you do! Pray for the church across our city to exponentially increase in prayer and never give up (Luke 18:1).
