“Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps His covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes His unfailing love on those who love Him and obey His commands.” Deuteronomy 7:9 (NLT)

Wake up Church. Wake up for our children and their children! Wake up sleeping body of Christ, rise from the dead and Christ will shine on you (Ephesians 5:14). Besides being asleep from the droning narrative of the world, from Covid, masks, vax, from race issues and election fraud, much of the church is in a doctrinal induced sleep as they wait for a rapture to rescue them! Jesus did not tell us to bunker down until He comes. He said occupy (Luke 19:12-13)! Jesus is coming back, but not for a wimpy, compromised and lukewarm bride (Revelation 19:7-8, Ephesians 5:27)!

This is a season for us to wake up and change the narrative for our children, and their children and their children’s children. It is on our shoulders to leave the church better than we received it, but right now so many of those children have turned away from the lukewarm, powerless church. It is time to wake up, and that starts with a remnant who gets fired up for Jesus! He said that the gospel, that is the Good News, that Jesus not only saves us, but heals and delivers us, will be preached as a witness, as a testimony, an example, to the whole world (Matthew 24:14). It was prophesied that the whole earth will be filled with the knowledge of the Lord (Habakkuk 2:14) and this will happen as God’s people wake up and carry the power of Good News through themselves to the world. It is the awakened Church that will preach the gospel with our lives and words to the whole world, then the end will come! That’s what Jesus says about it!

Cry out for God’s blessing to be released to your children to the thousandth generation (Deuteronomy 7:9). Cry out for the church to awaken in this hour, starting with the remnant, with you! The onus is on you to be the parent who fulfill the requirements of this promise, that is who love God and obey His commands. So, the greatest thing you can do is become a wholehearted passionate lover of Jesus! Ask God to stir wholehearted love for Jesus across the church in Athens, in your pastor, your congregation and working throughout our city. May Athens be a place where our children stand on our shoulders and go forth into the nations with the gospel!
