What We Do

What We Do

Our desire is to strengthen the prayer ministries in the local church, while linking them together in unity with other local churches. Movements of God are preceded by united and fervent prayer! As we cry out as individuals, as churches and as a network of churches in our city, for God’s kingdom to come and will to be done, we will see Him do greater things among us! Here is how we do this…

Gather pastors to pray together.
On the first and third Thursdays of each month pastors from around Athens gather to saturate each other in prayer at The Light from 10:30 to 11:30am (174 Henderson Ext., Athens GA 30605).

Pray individually with pastors.
Each month, often several times, we meet individually with the pastors and leaders from the Athens Prayer Network to pray with them and for accountability, growth and refreshment.

Strengthen existing prayer ministries in churches.
Where prayer ministries exist in local churches we look to strengthen and support them.

Help launch new prayer ministries in churches.
In churches that do not have any prayer ministries we help identify praying people (especially the key ones) and get the prayer going.

Connect prayer ministries & praying churches.

We want to connect the praying people from the various churches in the Athens Prayer Network to stand, journey and pray together.

Raise up an Athens Prayer leadership team.

We want to identify the prayer leaders from the various churches in this city and establish a prayer leadership team. These prayer leaders act as the key point people for their church and link in the network.

Establish a prayer net over Athens.

As the churches connect, we will create a mechanism to channel prayer requests with each other to provide a prayer covering over our city.

Provide on going prayer resourcing and training.

We will create and make available resources to help the praying people in our city as well as provide opportunities for them to receive training and ongoing support.

No more tolerance!
