“For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12 (NLT)
God is into governments. In fact, government rests on Jesus’ shoulders (Isaiah 9:6-7). While politics is a manmade system that is full of compromise and corruption, government is important and the church needs to be involved in it! In fact, there are high level demonic powers that seek to use human agents to control nations and people. The issue isn’t politics, it is government, and yes, God is involved in government. There are people who think that whoever is elected is God’s will. That is so incorrect! God does not bless those who steal, and unlawfully sit in a chair that is not theirs! God does not will murder, at a personal level nor in a nation. God does not will evil men and women to destroy nations! God does not desire babies to be executed, and churches silenced!
But God does honor the free will that He gave each human being. In the Garden of Eden, God bestowed on Adam the authority to rule over nations. Man was the viceroy under God called to reign and have dominion over the earth. Nevertheless, Adam yielded that authority to Satan. But the good news is, Jesus Christ through His death, brought realignment to the Father’s original plan. Nevertheless, the god of this age, is sitting on a throne that no longer is his. He is still opposing God and pressing forward with his evil plans which includes destroying Israel, doing away with the Church, and countering whatever God stands for. The god of this age desires a one world government, with an anti-Christ figure leading it. That’s right, a human filled with an evil spirit, is not God’s will!
So yes, pray for our government! Ask God to expose every evil agent (human and demonic) operating against His plan. Ask God to remove them from their position and replace them with duly elected leaders, God fearing men and women who desire for our nation to fulfill His plan for it. Pray that God would stir Christians to rise up and run for office, from the local level through the national platform. Pray that the corrupted election system that is currently operating in our nation to be reset and replaced with something that can be trusted. Ask God how He wants you to be involved in government. And pray for your pastor not to be afraid of fighting for Godly government!
