“And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:17 (HCSB)
One of the greatest men known is David, a man after God’s own heart. Yes, he failed, but he also was quick to repent when confronted with his sin. David was a fighter, a lover, a warrior and a worshiper. Though those terms seem contradictory, they actually are characteristics of a wholehearted lover of Jesus.
We are called to forcefully advance the kingdom of God (Matthew 11:12). We are called to be hot or cold, but not lukewarm (Revelation 3:15-16). We’re to be all in, or not at all! That sounds harsh, but those aren’t my words! There is no such thing as a part time or partial follower of Christ. Either you’re born again or not! And if you are, you will follow Him by denying yourself daily, picking up your cross like He did (Luke 9:23). If you’re ashamed to live for Him here and now, we’re told He’ll be ashamed of you when He comes in His glory (Luke 9:26).
Pray with me…
“Father forgive me for giving you anything less than all of me. I want to be like David, that is, one who is after Your heart. Grant me the grace to live wholeheartedly for You, to live my life all for Your glory!”
